This is the only claim I have ever heard to defend TPG and there is no reason to believe that “huge pools of capital” is a good thing. Fighting global warming with effective and sustainable approaches is a good thing. $ is needed to fund those approaches. If the “huge pools of capital” are used to fund effective approaches to solve the world’s most intractable problems that would be great. Unfortunately, “huge pools of capital” refuse to be assessed in any terms that describe their efficacy. The only questions we are allowed to ask are was it spent and did it get a return.
